I stood outside the townhall in Kilkenny from 3pm to 6pm on Tuesday. I collected 100 signatures for this petition, what was really strange to me is that only about 1 in 4 people who I asked signed the petition for “Brian Cowen to resign and call a General election.” Some people responded with “What good will it do ?” or “No, I won’t”, “who’s else is going to run the country”. These are all valid question.
Has it come down to the fact that people just don’t care what happens in Ireland any more?
It’s a sad day in Ireland when we stand idle and do absolutely nothing, It’s no wonder the British ruled us for so long. We are just all “sheep” following the next sheep to the slaughter!
I do hope that this country wakes the fuck up and does something about it.
Online petitions are a waste of time as most politicians can’t even use a computer.
EVERYONE WHO IS UNEMPLOYED AND OUT OF WORK SHOULD BE MARCHING ON THE STREETS EVERYDAY UNTIL THIS GOVERNMENT RESIGNS.
Fianna Fail won’t get into government next term, but they will be back in sooner rather than later, I could bet on it, and it will be a shameless country that will put them back there.
I now feel worse!
u mad
What do you mean “u mad”?
People are tired of it all, the majority want him and his government out but failing a revolution you do that through the ballot box. The problem with this will be the fact that there are so many who dont realise they dont have to tick all of the boxes on the ballot card resulting in transfers to FF that add to the probably 20% who will regardless still vote for them. The worst case I ever came across was a teacher from Kilkenny who admitted that she just put a number in every box and didnt realise that she could leave some empty – these people are educating our children!! Maybe the fact that she was blonde had something to do with it.
