End of the 34th Kilkenny arts festival. Overall my opinion of the festival is positive, but there is a lot of problems that i have noticed. This year the average price for any ticket was 20 Euro, given that when people stay here be it hotel,B&B or any other form of accommodation, It can work out very expensive. I understand that for it to be an on going project the festival has to at least make some money.But its seems that over the last few years it have become more and more commercial.

I have come to expect a few more this from an arts festival. The one thing I did notice was the fact that there were not many free gigs or street festivals going on, which means that after going to a gig there was not much going on. Pubs were doing the same thing, I really feel that if this is a preview of things to come.”Kilkenny Arts Festival” will surly die.

To make it a good festival there has to be a balance of free V paid, the more there is to do the better the experience. I know that the weather wasn’t as good as it could have been. I just hope lessons are learned from this years festival and that things will change for the better.

I don’t usually take a lot of photos, but I took along my camera to a exhibition called “The Ark” It’s a Polish Theatre Production, about oppression, and migration. It was pretty cool as it wasn’t the usual thing, there was not real stage the production became the intermixed with audience.Here are some picture of it:

This website is IPv6 enabled . I’ve had my account with sixxs for close to 2 years now, so I finally decided to apply for a second tunnel but as I never used my eircom email account it got deactivated. This is where it became interesting… sixxs have a policy of deactivating accounts if emails bounce,and do not accept account such as gmail (read FAQ on that on). I emailed asking them to change my account email to my Gmail account, considering the amount of redundancy that google have it is probably better than most ISP email. In any case after a few more email back and forth I finally got my account re-activated…

As I stated in previous posts: It’s nice to have some manners, especially when dealing with people you do not know.

A few things bug me about realestate agents..They are quite happy taking money off you but the minute you leave they become the worst people to deal with. Over the year and a half that I’ve lived in the house things got moved around(it happens).. Now granted I understand that we have to put things back in the original places, but when it gets to a stage that it’s nit picking… as in “that light is not in the correct place” etc..

Another thing that bugged me was… When I first moved in, I took the old mattress protector and really disgusting pillows and threw them out and bought new ones. When the clipboard check-list came out she asked “where are the pillows?”. I stated that the pillows were so disgusting that I had to throw them out(she gave me a weird look). I left the mattress protector I bought on the bed, She seem not to have a problem with this, so as long as she could check off the list… I will not be dealing with this unnamed company ever again. And I hope they cop on to themselves.

I think everyone can understand that things get broken… we replaced them, things get moved… we re-arranged them again. It’s not like we put holes in the wall or wrecked that place.. If they want things to be perfect why are they renting the place out?

Anyway that’s my rant over… I feel better now.
