I went and did some indoor archery last night, It was really cool, some people from work also came along. it was really good thing to do.I’ve never done archery, bar the bows and arrows that I made when I was a kid.
I think this might be something that I will continue to do, The guys who run the club are all really nice and have a wealth of knowledge, when 7 of us turned up for the practice session, they gave up bows and supplied us with arrows, and didn’t even charge us a cent. (its an unwritten rule) that the first 1 – 2 sessions are free after that you pay 60 Euro to do a course, which in my opinion is cheap for what you get. I can’t wait for next Thursday…..

To add insult to injury I had a meal in “a nameless pub” for lunch on Monday, and about 5 hours later I felt dizzy and started to vomit, had a bad case of diarrhea(mild case of food poisoning). I’d swear someone put a HEX on me….:) Just trying to figure out what else can happen to me before the end of the week. My sister has borrowed my car for the next few days so I won’t be driving, which is probable a good thing
On a side note I went to Night at the museum it’s quite funny, and I also went to Deja Vu last night, which reminds me of minority report, It a pretty good flick to just sit back and watch without too much “deep and profound brain things” going on. Also it’s nice not to have yet another stab at the “Arab Terrorist”
I was going to go to Playboy of the western world, which is in the watergate Theatre on the 22nd of jan, It’s a school production but it might have been nice to go see. Just before Christmas I was at a production from Dance Theatre Ireland, Exodus/Grand Junction it was pretty good, and quite interesting, it was about mass migration, intergration etc.

You know how sometimes you want to get away, I decided to go to Waterford,Tramore. I drove there expecting to maybe stay about an hour at most, Breathing in the sea air and having a long walk, even though the weather was rough(Gusting to 70-80kph) it was as I would put it “fresh” when i arrived at the strand I park the car pretty close to the beach. And waited for the rain to die down. Not been in Tramore more that 10 minutes at this point in time…. I decided it wasn’t going to get any better so I decided to lock the car and take a walk.
There was a guy with one of those beach buggy, powered by a ridgid sail (maybe 2×1 meter). We started off pretty much on the same path but veering in different direction, I continued on straight and he made for the beach.I was thinking that “His sail is going to blow away”. In any case I was on the beach less that 5 mins..
Here is where the fun begins….
I heard shouting, it was carried by the wind, “Fuck no” and some other thing I could not make out, I turned to look at what was happening, what did I see coming towards me.. yep you guessed it! it was the sail
… What can someone do with only about 2 seconds to react.. I braced for the impact… BANG! knocked over and my eye cut… The guy comes running over and says” Fuck, this is all I need”, He was talking about the sail hitting me. I was dazed and confused as to what just happened and blood dripping from my eye, I went the the nearest surf shop, as I knew they would have first aid.
I waited in the surf shop to see if the guy would come back and apologise for what he caused. He never came back, what an asshole! Then after maybe 10-15 mins I noticed that I was missing my glasses which I just happened to have spend 300~ Euro on Saturday.. I went out and looked for maybe an hour, with the help of the nice people for the surf shop and just some bystanders that saw the thing. Well I never found my glasses that I only had for less than 24 hours.. So now I’m back wearing my old pair ( I’ll have to get the lenes replaced to my current prescription..(well at least I did not lose and eye as the glasses can be replaced…
I have no idea what lesson I was suppose to have learned from the experience…
Just a little update: As i left my number with the surf club, I got a phone call from him today, he has offered to pay for the loss of my glasses. That’s what I would expect…
