Within the next few weeks the cartoon Saloon will be entirly moved to the Maltings it new home for the forseable future.There are a few issues that have to be sorted out by the landlord.
Skunk fu production has been working there for the last 2 weeks and only minor problems have popped up, mainly permission with files and windows profiles.. All theses problems have for the most part been sorted, but it means that some people have to get their profiles redone etc… I’ve implemented user quota on their home share, each person gets 2.5 GB of storage for their personal files.
Kells films the other production is slated to move in the next week or so as rsyncing data from the new premises is proving quite the nightmare. We have a 2mbit SDSL line at the new premises and a 2mbit ADSL line at the old. As Brendan and the secret of kells generate more data (file size) than Skunk fu I have left the tape backup at the old place.
I have a cron job that runs every 10 mins to sync the data from the new place to the old where it get backed up to tape every night.As the sync might take more than 10 mins to finish I have to put in some checks so that cron wouldn’t start a job without the previous on finishing…Noting that some people on irc.linux.ie can be helpful some people are quite ignorant, but I suppose not everyone has manners..
My holiday is coming up soon! Can’t wait!!!!!
